foreign so I haven't done SEO in a long time and I thought it'd be cool to show you this live just because why not um for those of you who've been on this channel for a while or been following the channel for a while you'll know that I used to do these pretty much every single day for years um but I'm doing this as a free thing that I'm doing for a friend of mine I thought I'd stream it now here's the issue with this uh thing we got going on here so I waited for a long time to get um plug-in access so I could install ideally old Google analytics for dynamic call tracking I'm sure we could probably figure it out with ga4 I'm just not happy about it and then so I could get Google Search console which I might also be able to get by sinking through analytics now that I have ga4 but we'll see so let me go over to the property I got here now I'm pretty sure based on the call that I had with the company that's running the site that they're only doing click to call inform submissions they're not doing Dynamic call tracking so unfortunately we're not going to be able to see a difference in the calls besides the click to call and so ideally we'd also put Dynamic call tracking on here so anytime that somebody calls a number off the site it would set an event as well so that's something I would like to get done but I got to the point where I'm like okay I'm just going to do this even if I don't have everything that I need because I don't want to wait anymore okay now here's the downfall with working with um SEO on websites a lot of the time the people that you're going to be doing these optimizations for they're not going to have access full access to their website and so the reason why is because the companies that they work with don't want to give them access because if somebody else can take over the website then they don't have to keep paying that um that company so either way I'm going to see what we can do here um and I'm going to hopefully even though even though we don't have Dynamic call tracking to set up I'm going to hopefully uh be able to at least see Google search console because one of the first things that we want to do for this site is we want to map out the keywords but unfortunately I don't know if we're going to be able to do that with our limited access so here's what we got to do we got to go add the URL we're gonna go here continue oh it looks like we got it that's sweet okay so here's the data that we actually um want to look at first basically you can see under the queries this is all the different topics that we're showing up for in the last three months and what we're getting clicks for now what you'll notice is that a lot of these topics are all brand related right besides down here which we have luxury cars but look at this the actual keywords that don't include our name on average we're ranking position 14 for this and look you can see it's a little spotty we're not showing up constantly for this thing and most the reason why that's happening is because we don't actually have Pages targeting these topics yet okay now I I tried performing a crawl on the site with shine ranker and also with uh screaming frog and Unfortunately they also I believe disabled crawling so if I go like this copy the URL head over to let's say shine Rinker login we will not be able to crawl it because of the fact that they disallowed crawlers which is really annoying because from an audit standpoint or from a roadmap standpoint whatever you want to call it we would like to be able to see what's actually on the site so look at this you see that says zero Pages because they just slot crawling error reading URL now one thing we can do though if we don't have that is we can go to pages and so instead of looking at the keywords here we go and look and see what pages are getting clicks if we click on pages in here and this is why it's very important that you get search console access if you're going to be um you know doing a roadmap for a website because we want to see what are the top pages here now look at this the only real pages that are getting traffic is the home page this page which is uh some weird sort of UTM parameter being clicked I'm not actually sure what this is never actually seen this oh it looks like it might be a UTM parameter that's being tracked from the Google my business clicks Scottsdale Portland and then that's it okay we got like some of these other ones with lower clicks but that's pretty much it now if we click on here this is the main page this is going to be the page that carries the most weight we're going to see all the things that this page is showing up for but we wanna see anything that doesn't include their brand name because we don't really care about that okay what we care about is what is the thing that they're showing up for the most that isn't doesn't have to do with their brand because ranking for your brand is not really a hard thing to do so if we scroll down here let me zoom in got lap and motor lap and motor lab and motor lap Motor Portland uh uh photos Scottsdale Motors uh we want there we go exotic cars okay so you're gonna see a few things pop up here okay now I want you to pay attention to what brings in the most views so we got Scottsdale exotic cars 64 views that's Impressions or views that's how many people saw it okay we got luxury cars 50 we got exotic cars Scottsdale 116.
luxury car dealership 102 and so the things people are searching for the most is anything around exotic and luxury so ideally we'd probably want to have a little bit of both okay we also got used cars here but this is showing up very very low so that might not be what we want to map the home page for okay now ideally you want to map the home page to the most important topic because it's going to be the topic that gets the most searches okay so we got three main topics we've got exotic cars we got luxury cars we got used cars okay so what do we need to do first of all we need to look at the the differences in these searches so we're going to shine ranker we're going to go to uh the AI viral topic finder sorry we're going to type in these three topics use cars Scottsdale we're going to look up luxury cars Scottsdale and then we're going to look up exotic cars Scottsdale click on submit okay if in these three topics let them run okay now what we're going to do is we're going to click on this check mark and we're going to check the difficulty on all of these see what's the easiest to Target so we want to find the intersection of easy ideally and uh and high searches so let's see out of those three topics that we looked at exotic used and luxury what are the top ones we got car dealership that's super difficult you can see auto dealership but these are all good topics right so ideally we want to track the good topics so we can save them for later so what we're going to do is we're gonna go to China we're going to add a new project and we're going to call it lap in Motors motorco we're going to take this website here add it in create now we're going to go select it oh we're already in it go back to topic finder okay so we want to keep track of these so we got car dealership in Scottsdale we're going to track that one we're gonna do uh Scottsdale Lexus because these are these are going to be all the sub pages that we're going to be building um Volvo auto dealerships dealership okay just gonna take a few of these for now but again we want to figure out what do we want the home page to rank for what's the what's the most important topic to show up for the home page and I believe it's it looks like it's probably a used car so let's type in used let's type in Lux and then let's type in exotic so I think used cars is probably the best topic and it looks like they're already mapped for that used car Scottsdale so let's actually see it looks like they went for a long tail Scott's used cars Scottsdale AZ so it looks like they targeted that cool now here's the thing though all those other Pages like luxury uh exotic these should all be separate pages on the website so if I do site colon and look up the site we should see exotic on the site and we don't um we got this which is a location page and so while they have some pages this one's not even this doesn't even really have anything here while we have some pages targeting the main keyword it's not really targeting the keyword well and it looks like they just actually changed the title on the site looks like maybe me calling them made them change the uh the actual page we can go check on that if I go edit page it should show me the history on this um let's see browse revisions three months ago okay so last time they actually changed this so that's what's funny is um this company's paying for this site but they haven't edited it in four months so they're paying monthly for this right and they haven't really changed anything in four months and this is why I recommend uh that if you're buying SEO for your site you don't want a monthly deal you want a um you want to you want to do it Project based you want to do it by a package it looks like they were trying to do some SEO here looks like they added this that's all they did they added one line of text anyways uh part of the reason why this site isn't picking up this title or why Google's picking up a different title is because for whatever reason it doesn't like this title and so it's taking something else um so let me show you how we choose the title we take the top three topics and we smush them all together okay so we're gonna go uh to the page we're going to edit and we're going to do um instead of Welcome to lap and motorco we're going to do the top keywords at the beginning which the first part was used cars Scottsdale we'll do the long term variation a z used cars Scottsdale AZ and then we're going to say exotic luxury and more lapid Motors so basically what these are is they're called qualifiers okay this is the certain things people are looking for around the main topic and so while we're gonna have other Pages for this we also want to have these topics included within the main part of the site okay we're going to go to the preview here we're going to just take all this out paste there we go so you see how much better that looks you see that versus this much better uh as a used car dealership in Scottsdale we're going to do a z and I looks like I didn't capitalize this Scottsdale AZ you sell top quality cars have a long list it's not even proper grammar we sell luxury and ex exotic exotic luxury and every day cars now one of the best places by the way if you want to ever use a template for local SEO is to use this was actually one of the first websites ever competed against Santa Barbara computer repair these guys are literally the perfect template for local laughs looks like that other guy's out ranking him this guy basically copied that other guy but look at all this text oh my gosh just a wall with the sidebar as well with the Google reviews and then they got the internal links here they got a link to the Google Maps so ideally we'd want to copy this outline but we'd want to change it over to lapping okay so we'd copy this we'd go into the site here wherever the heck we went with that home page here we go so you see how it says are you looking for a car a luxury car dealer in AZ look no further we offer pristine selection blah blah blah now let me paste this and show you the difference welcome to uh lap in so we would change this so I'm telling you you can use this as a direct template you're trusted used car dealership in Arizona in Scottsdale AZ with over uh I don't even know what the I don't know what the actual uh amount of time is they've been in business so I might take that part out we provide a wide range and so here here's something that's very important to do you want to tell remember how I said there's all these related keywords we want to name all of the related keywords within the first paragraph of the of the website right so we offer a wide range of cars of luxury and exotic cars as well as everyday Vehicles including and then we can name off all of the cars that we found from this over here okay now I'm actually not too sure what they want for this because I'm not like 100 well versed in the whole car market but I might just pull what I can find on the site we need to change this by the way to a phone call as well like it doesn't really make sense or have two buttons here um we ideally also should have the text like this I know it doesn't look as good but Google likes to read the text early and you see all these related uh Pages as well that's what we need for this site so um we got Toyota Ford we'll just start listing out popular car brands most popular car brands BMW okay we're just gonna pull all these BMW Ford Mercedes-Benz so basically what we're doing is we're just stuffing this page with all these different keywords right that people are searching for when they're looking for used car dealerships does that make sense Volkswagen Porsche Audi Tesla I'm probably gonna pull all of them Jeep Cadillac Dodge Honda Lexus and then let's do some luxury car brands most popular luxury uh Lamborghini Maserati Ferrari and more okay we'll just do that for now that's a lot okay so now we're gonna go back in here stuff all that and that alone is a good start we're gonna go boom there put this at the top now ideally as we start to build out these separate pages we would have uh take all this stuff out so ideally we'd have all these related locations here but we're going to wait on that um ideally we would have links to like places that we could internally link to on the site as well and basically all that means is that we want to be able to point Authority from the home page into the separate pages because the home page is going to pass the most Authority so uh first of all let's go ahead and we got to change that one thing what makes us stand out from other so this is saying luxury car we want used car because that's what this uh used car dealer that's what this page is going for so it's kind of weird because they're targeting like two different things here so first thing we want to do is we want to they change the open graph data or no social they didn't put open graph data so we got to just transfer that over here and an open graph data actually does just does change things um so where did that I don't really know how this is built we have kind of a weird setup here I'm not really a fan of of WordPress to be honest with you okay welcome to Lapin Motors we want this to be um we want to change this to that because what's going to happen is now we're going to get the actual topic that we're targeting into the main header so there we go use cars we also ideally don't want a white background on top of the lettering here just because it makes it look a little hard to read and ideally Google doesn't want you to have hidden letters on a website it can tell if the text is like looks almost hidden it's probably fine for now uh this goes to view all inventory I would kind of prefer this to be a bigger button and instead of this button being here it would be like a phone call but I think we should have two buttons call now and view all inventory so um what we could do is we could go into the uh we want the CD CTA call to action um I'm not sure where they're pulling this call to action from we got call to action section two we got additional home page content and what we really want to edit is that uh we really want to edit this here to change to the actual phone number we want an extra call to action here so I need to figure out where that's coming from I don't know where that's coming from loading type line so I might just have to make a note here and and ideally what I'm going to do here is I'm I'm going to say the stuff I want to get changed and then I'll probably just hand it to somebody to actually go and Implement some of this because I don't want to have to go and try to figure out where buttons are but we should have a separate button um we should actually sorry we should have the first button first button go to give us a call and second button go to inventory okay now next thing we need to do is we need to build out these pages okay this is pretty much good we got the used car Scottsdale blah blah blah we got this in the title ideally we'd have a different thing there uh picture there but whatever it's fine for now if we look at the mobile site it looks fine again I would prefer to have a phone call there we do have this instant Chat thing I did a test on it I didn't hear back from anybody so I'm a little bit skeptical hey can you confirm this works um I'm a little bit skeptical about whether or not that works but I'm sure it probably does why are these images not here it's a little odd I'm not sure why these why don't why don't we have images here that's a little weird um let's see what do we got for these so there's an image here image here so why are those not loading is it oh is it because I'm logged in or something let's see now now they're there okay I guess it's because I'm logged in well this is Odd as well I just changed the site and it's not refreshing in in um Incognito so it might be because they have a cache on the site so maybe at the reload cash let's see what happens it's kind of annoying if you have to reload the cache every time okay there we go I don't know why these images aren't here anymore kind of weird let's see image is here hmm I'm not sure why those images aren't there so I can revert this and I'm sure to put the images back but then we're going to lose the things we just added in here um I wonder if it has to do with the extra text on here let me check on mobile really quick second hmm yeah very strange uh let me just revert it by that image is on the entire rest of the website so I wonder if it has to do with the cash or something it's very odd um okay let me go in here we're gonna edit we're gonna go into here I'm gonna I'm gonna revert it back to how we had it just because the SEO is better back then we want it here yes no we want it here we want to remove the luxury car part change it back to used car but yeah I'm very confused by these images here they're in here maybe I can I can take one out and try to re-upload it and see what happens but for some reason those three images disappeared very odd oh I gotta change this back again that's annoying that's why I saved this though this is the same that's the same we got to change this back um yeah I don't know about I don't know about the uh images here because they're showing right here we can access them there it is it it to me it seems like it's something to do with like the CDN or the cache or something because it doesn't really make sense to me two buttons on home page first button goes to phone call second goes to inventory I don't believe I have no idea where this goes okay yeah I'm not stoked on the website like home page at all but it is what it is um so what we're gonna do now that we got a few changes in there like why is this a slider but it's it doesn't even make sense I would ideally like to have this as a static page uh sort of like this this goes to Google reviews this site's actually a little sparse compared to the this one sidebar testimonials this guy doesn't even have a footer that's kind of weird alright so next thing we need is the separate pages okay so separate Pages now the the main types of pages we need uh really are uh number one the different types of vehicles in Arizona so uh Pages for different types of cars and then Pages for the different locations so like used car you know Arizona used car Scottsdale use car Phoenix so we can show up for all those different things and we can actually get an estimation too if we go over to shine ranker and plug in this site we can get an estimation of what we're actually supposed to show up for if we go and add this to the traffic Checker so let's go back to shine Rinker traffic Checker and this will actually show stuff that it's already showing up for but we probably don't have Pages built for so you see this these are all different pages here now ideally we want the ones in Arizona Scottsdale car dealers dealership in Scottsdale so we want pages for all of that cars uh car dealership Scottsdale car Scottsdale car dealers Scottsdale Rolls Royce so this is an example of a landing page we want right now right now it's just going to Scottsdale inventory but if we created a page for this we would show up for it see use Rolls-Royce for sale and then ideally I guess we'd have all of those types of cars here but right now it just goes to inventory so I don't know um I guess it's just it's just if it gets listed it's like it gets dynamically put here but we want to actually have separate pages that goat that probably link to the actual model or not the model the actual uh make so these right here Rolls Royce these don't actually get these are just filters they're not actually indexable pages um so we'd want to have actual dedicated Pages for each of these things yeah I don't think this chat works very well I don't think anything really happens um either way I can request to get this indexed because we have search console now and we just did some changes on it overview full report we're going to do URL we're going to plug this in here request to get it indexed because we made some changes you want to do that anytime you make changes what a dedicated page mess up search filtering throughout that website no because the search filtering isn't um isn't indexable so it's not going to make a difference in fact it's going to help the website because right now Google doesn't know what to show for those different searches okay so we're re-indexing that I don't know why it takes so long to get that stuff indexed while we're doing that now oh I guess I'll sign in on into a different page so while that's doing that what we want to do is we want to go back to search console and we want to download all of those pages because what we're going to do is ideally we're going to map each of the pages so they all have a unique purpose okay so if I go to Pages here export I'm going to download as a Google sheet I'm going to go to queries I'm going to paste one to the right or not query sorry Pages I'm going to paste one to the right here and then I'm going to have for every single page I'm going to have a uh map a keyword map foreign so this Google my business page is irrelevant so I'm just gonna because it's not a page it's a UTM so I'm going to say n a for the home page we went for a used car dealer used cars Arizona or what was it Arizona or Scottsdale used cars Scottsdale uh and then the next page we have is this inventory page now if we want to see what we're supposed to rank that for we just go back to search console overview uh we're gonna go to pages we're going to click on Scottsdale inventory click on queries and now we have things that shown up for so it's the same thing brand name um nothing really exciting right but that page has weight so ideally we'd have something for that I think maybe Scottsdale cars for sales Scottsdale cars for sale I'm not really sure let's go look and see what that page rank or what it's being indexed as so we can go like that Scottsdale or lapid Motor Co it should show the inventory page and then it should show us what Google's indexing this as there we go uh luxury pre-owned cars for sale so Google clearly thinks that it's a luxury car dealership which it is I mean they are luxury cars but this could actually be our luxury car keyword map page so we're gonna go edit page here Scottsdale inventory we're going to call it Scottsdale luxury cars for sale because I think that was the mapped keyword wasn't it look Scottsdale luxury cars for sale let's just do Scottsdale luxury cars luxury Scottsdale Luxury Auto cars for sale all kind of the same thing used cars but that'll be the map for that one luxury Scottsdale luxury cars for sale and then here we got luxury pre-owned cars for sale we're gonna do this uh Scotch sale Scottsdale luxury cars for sale uh used cars and exotic Lapin so notice how this is different than the home page the home page is Scottsdale used cars for sale This is Scottsdale luxury cars for sale um if you're still looking for Scottsdale luxury cars for sale look no further now I don't think we can really do much on this page I don't think we can add a whole lot of text here I'm not sure if we go to view all inventory here uh and then we scroll we might be able to add text above this I'm not sure I really think that we should fix this live chat because I don't think it works very well um but we might just want to have the cars up here and then put text below I'm going to update this really quick and then I'm going to see what happens if I put some text below this I'm just going to say test I think it that's used vehicles wait a second Why is the okay what is the inventory page versus the use car page is it just a filter okay test popped up there I don't know why this goes to used vehicles and then there's an inventory page what is the where is this page coming from so this isn't even Linked In the menu ideally this would be linked in the menu and then this used car page would actually be canonical or redirected to the actual because I don't think any traffic's going to that used car page let me go and see we're going to do site colon used vehicles and then let's this is a duplicate page basically I'm gonna go overview report pages okay yeah see used vehicles that's popping up but it's the same exact page let's see the Portland inventory that one should be different um is this supposed to be popping up with some stuff or I don't know uh let's see what's happening over here lap in motor Portland is this a separate website so is all inventory for every location I'm a little bit confused because I don't know how to filter by location here this is this supposed to is it supposed to recognize your location based on where you are like these ideally should have either separate websites or separate subpages very confusing to me and these should be clickable to the actual landing page like the we should have two different uh Local Pages here this is very very confusing to me I guess I'm assuming that it's supposed to assume what where your location is and it's just showing because I it knows that I'm in this area let me see what happens if I do let me delete that test thing really quick I might have to ask them about this because I'm actually not sure how the heck it's filtering it's gonna go to Scottsdale inventory either way I do think that we should combine Pages because there's no reason for this to have say used car and then we have this separate page that's getting more clicks it's just duplicate content so it doesn't make sense um okay so where the heck is oh let's get rid of that update I'm gonna try going Scottsdale or uh lap in Motor Co I wonder how that AI site did that I did it's got Luxury Auto I generated a bunch of pages with AI for this just to see what would happen this one showed up I didn't do any links or anything it's just kind of an interesting this probably won't pop up if anything else but let's see nothing um Okay so Portland motor I haven't motor used cars yeah see all this stuff is showing up it even says used car dealership Scottsdale Portland it doesn't make sense and then this goes to about us yeah none of that makes sense I almost think why don't we have why do we have is that it doesn't make sense to me that this site is going to Portland uh cars for sale it doesn't make sense to me that this site goes to this goes to Arizona we want Portland so it doesn't make sense to me that this website goes to the home page where it says Scottsdale why would that be the case and then on top of it where the heck are the cars for Portland it doesn't make sense unless this dynamically changes and I'm not aware of it uh when you're in Portland okay I might have to ask some questions before I keep moving on here because I'm not really sure what's going on with the uh separate cities here all cities yeah I don't know what's going on um but either way uh what we're gonna probably start doing is building these different uh pages and then I'm gonna get the A-Okay on combining the pages as well but before I change anything else I just want to make sure that um that all of this makes sense because I don't want to start changing certain things until I understand fully what we're doing here with this um because again it just doesn't make sense to me why if we look at the data here we got all these people coming from well not as many actually from Portland I don't know it's just very confusing why is there only like is the is the Portland one not operating or does it not show to this area I'm very confused I'm gonna call and see what's going on
