it's time to make some huge progress on content so today what we're going to do is we're going to build a cluster of content we're going to start today with the topics identify specific topics that could go really well together into a cluster of articles on our website that's going to help build real topical Authority for you and that's going to wrink B on Google and bring in some real traffic let's Dive Right [Music] In as you may know if you saw my project double time update I haven't yet actually revealed what the site is because I'm working on getting it or organically to that full-time income and I'm trying to do it as quickly as possible cuz I really want to just let you in on that secret but until then it's still Incognito but I want to be able to show you exactly what I'm doing so for the video I'm going to do this for cook for folks but then I'm going to follow the same process for I almost just gave it away then I'm going to follow the exact same process for my project double time website so the first thing we need to do is come up with a list of search queries now there are a ton of ways to do this in the past we've taught the alphabet suit method from Google we've been to answer the public we've been to keyword research tools that will give you a whole list of search queries related to specific topics today we have some other cool tools at our disposal so I'm going to show you how I would do this using chat GPT and I'm going to start by asking it this question please give me 20 questions I started off by using the word please just because it's an AI doesn't mean it doesn't have feelings also when the computers take over the world I want them to know that I was always polite I asked it for 20 questions I want a pretty good siiz list because I am going to be narrowing it down this description is literally one of the descriptions that I got in a video that I put out a few weeks ago where I was showing you how to use these tools for keyword research literally how to use them with Google search console to identify topics based on what you've already written and the tool gave me a list of clusters that I could go after and this was one of them so that's why I use this and we're going to see what it can give me okay it's giving me a network error but at the same time it gave me my 20 so I have 20 Questions here and we're going to go with that but now that I have this list I want to do some validation first I want to know if any of these particular search queries is low competition meaning if I write a decent article I'm going to be able to rank at or very near the top of Google I'm going to start with the first one but I'm going to change my wording a little bit right so I'm going to say just budget friendly ingredients for large group cooking okay and so here's what I'm getting I'm getting articles that are specifically recipes not ingredients they're a little bit off the mark now they seem off the mark because I asked for ingredients specifically but are most people searching the internet asking for what are some cheap ingredients I can use people tend to kind of know that rice beans and flour are cheaper the more basic and the more staple you get the less it's probably going to cost for the ingredients so maybe the question that I asked was the wrong question and Google's assuming that the search intent was I really want to know what meals I can cook for people but that isn't actually what was searched and so the actual search query that I typed in seems to be low competition because Google doesn't really have a good answer and I could see writing an article that listed out specific ingredients that are less expensive than other ingredients and therefore if you know that you can find meal options that use those ingredients and I could also see linking out to several recipes of my own on my own website and basically having people come in through the ingredient search query so I'm not going to ignore it entirely in fact I'm going to consider it probably pretty low competition this next one I'm going to assume is probably not low competition how to cost effectively meal plan for a week for a large family meal planning on a budget for large families right there at the top there's even a snippet this is large family this is for feeding eight this is for a family of 10 meal plan for large families from BuzzFeed large family meal planning I mean this is going to be higher competition now one thing that's changed our method from the past is a while back we probably would have said so ignore this one don't write it you're not going to rank for it probably at least not anytime soon today that's changed a little bit because I want to make sure that I write enough content on the topic of budget friendly cooking for large groups to build some topical Authority and so I am going to go ahead and write articles that I'm not going to rank really well for but we want to make sure that at least a few of these search queries are low competition because if we can rank for something even if it gets very very very few searches it's going to help approve the authoritativeness of our Blog the more content you have ranking high on Google the better the rest of the content on your website is going to be viewed from an eat standpoint so I don't mind that this is higher competition and it's still going to stay on my list but I want to look for a few more that are low competition this next one's going to be high competition I just know it cheap in easy recipes that can feed a crowd how can I use bulk buying to save money on cooking for large groups what about this best ways to stretch a meal to serve more people see how that goes make it a soup add beans toss salad so I mean right here this Google generated snippet thing I mean that's already pretty helpful we got video content here discussions and forums I actually kind of like now that Google is grouping a lot of the Forum discussions here like together so if that's what I'm looking for great that's where I'm going to go but it's not taking up a ton of the serp so this is high competition as well what about this one using seasonal produce to save money see now what I'm getting is articles that have answers to that search query to that question but that aren't directly on point for that and so I may have an opportunity here what about this one this is kind of a big ask create a diverse and satisfying menu for a large event on a tie budget give me great food for a lot of people real cheap wow there's a whole bunch here from like straight up from LinkedIn a lot of these are definitely around catering which isn't exactly what I'm typing in and so this one I may have a little bit of opportunity for as well now the next step is that I want to validate that I'm actually covering the topic pretty thorough early when I look at this list that I got from chat GPT I did get a whole bunch of different questions but these aren't all necessarily that closely related except that they're all about cooking for a bunch of people on a budget but I've got desserts I've got meat I've so I've got lots of different kinds of food and I can certainly find ways to tie them together right in the article about meat I could absolutely Interlink to my article about finding ways to stretch the meal further by adding in salads and other stuff like that and then I could link to my other article about desserts for the same kinds of groups and really I could link out to all of these from this one here the creating a diverse and satisfying menu for a large event on a tight budget in fact that article right there could kind of be a pillar post that incorporates pieces of a bunch of the other search queries that we covered here and that links out to each one of those articles but if I don't feel confident that I've really filled out this list I can take these search queries that I've typed in and I can look at this little section right here people also ask how do you feed 100 guests on a budget how do you plan food for a large event what's the cheapest type type of food de catered that one feels kind of on point how do you plan an event menu I'm going to go ahead and open this one here now if I want to see the competitiveness of that one I could open that up I'm going to do it at another Tab and I could see what sort of uh answers I get and as I would expect it's pretty pretty competitive but check this out by opening that one up it added a couple more options here to the list now those options aren't that helpful because how do you feed 50 how do you feed 60 the answers aren't going to be that different let's try another one how do I make a big batch of soup that's both affordable and filling all right so I've got all these recipes right here right but let's look at the people also ask in general how do you make soup more filling that's a good search query I'm curious how competitive it is nine ways to make it more satisfying here's Reddit how do I make more soup more satisfying how can you do more with soup amp up canned soup to make it a healthy meal this one here seems on point 20 soups that are filling enough for a meal but it's not directly answering the question the question is how in general do I take any soup and make it more filling like what are the principles of making a soup filling versus soups that aren't that filling so I could see this being one that I could potentially win I like that let's look at the people also ask to find other questions that are closely related notice what we're doing here we're filling out this sort of topical map all of these queries are kind of interconnected and what we're doing is we're filling in the internet with content that answers all the different aspects of these questions in fact this cluster of content that I started with was about cooking for large groups and doing it on a budget right it's possible that I started too big and that I could actually go down to making soup for a large group and answer five or six different search queries that are just about soup now another thing that we could do just to get our initial list we could go back to chat GPT and if you click here explore gpts there's one that you'll come across that's free this one was made by Julian Goldie here I just type in the niche that I want to write about now you could just type in your high level Niche cooking for large groups but I'm not going to do that I want to get more specific because I want to build a cluster of content around something specific so I'm going to type in budget friendly cooking strategies we're going to Niche way down and we're just going to build a cluster of content and here is what his tool is going to give me first of all it says that these are assumed to have low competition all of these I'm not sure what the tool is using to validate them against but that's kind of cool how to feed large groups cheaply I don't know how that low how low competition that is let's do a quick search yeah that is not the competition level zero but that's okay back to it easy recipes for big families how to cook in bulk on a budget what are the cheapest meals basically I could use this tool to help kind of fill in my list now we got to move on to the next step we've done some validating on our list we know that at least a couple of those search queries are fairly low competition so we want to make sure we we definitely include those but the next thing that we want to do is we want to take our list and we want to narrow it down not that I want to be eliminating these search queries but I want to be grouping them so what I could do here is I could take this list and I could just use my brain to group ones that I think are closely enough related that they could go in the same article but I could also try to get the AI to do this for me so please group these search queries into groups by closely related topics see what it gives me okay that was actually really helpful now I can look at these and decide do these groups belong as single articles or maybe they just are closely related ones that you know some of these with four maybe it's two and two in a single article so let's look at this one cost-effective snacks and use of leftovers what are some healthy and cheap snacks for a large crowd how can I use leftovers creatively when cooking for a large group how to make a budget friendly yet impressive dish for a potluck those three don't feel like they're super closely related these might just be what was kind of kind of left after the other ones are group so let's look at the first one planning a weekly menu cost- effective cooking strategies reduce the cost per serving meal prepping on a budget for a big family now look at this planning a weekly menu for a f large family on a budget is basically the same thing as the best strategies for meal prepping on a budget for a big family those two should absolutely be grouped together into a single article and I could just make sure that I cover all of the angles that those two different wordings seem to be implying so the first one kind of feels more like a step-by-step like how do I plan this weekly menu and the second question here is what are the best strategies what are the principles that are going to help me keep this cost down as low as possible but have a plan that we're actually going to stick to how to make a budget friendly three course meal for a large Gathering cost-effective cooking strategies for feeding a large group those are closely related but maybe two different articles so out of these five I might have three or four articles and some of them are just going to be closly enough related that I'm going to naturally Interlink between them here the top 10 budget friendly ingred ingredients for large group meals versus the best bulk foods to buy when cooking for a large group two different questions but super closely related I could see them maybe going in the same article or I could see them being two different articles that once again Interlink and then the cheapest cuts of meat certainly goes right along with that but is a totally different question you see what we're doing here we're grouping these in natural ways to be able to one combine multiple search queries into single articles in many cases as well as to be able to identify which articles should definitely link to one another from here we could actually generate our own list of articles that we're going to actually write for our website and under each one I'm going to make a note of the specific search queries that are going to be included in that article when you have more than about five articles in a cluster it often makes sense to write one larger pillar piece of content that all of the articles in that cluster could link to and that that one article could link to all the articles in that cluster this leads me to my final step here in this whole clustering process and that is that once we've written all these articles all of them should be linked somehow to the group now it may be that we decide once again that these aren't one cluster but these are all individual clusters and that's fine I could see this uh budget friendly meal planning and budget friendly recipes maybe all just being in one cluster so we're going to use our own brains to help figure all that out but all the articles that we want to show that these all go together and I'm now an authority on this topic budget friendly large group cooking all of the articles that establish that Authority for me should be in one way linked to one another there's a few different ways to do this the first one is through what I'll call a wagon wheel approach and this is the one I just described you have maybe one pillar piece of content for the whole cluster and every one of the articles in that cluster linked to it now this makes sense for clusters of maybe four to seven articles but it starts to make a lot less sense if we end up with a cluster of like 15 articles that are all pretty closely related having one pillar post that links to all of them maybe doesn't make sense so for maybe about every five articles we could take that cluster we could kind of group them into smaller subclusters and for each one of those maybe have a a pillar post that sort of covers the broader subtopic and we can have that one pillar post link out to the articles that make up that subcluster and those pillar post could all link to one another as well as you're going to have maybe a few articles that overlap two subclusters because again they're all part of the same cluster am I getting cluster confused yet to help visualize this what we're going to do is call this the then Wagon Wheel approach essentially we're going to have pillar posts and each one is the center of that wagon wheel and then there's all those spokes right those are linkages out to other individual posts within that cluster or subcluster but with a vend Wagon Wheel you have two wagon wheels that touch or overlap because what you have is a few articles in each of those clusters or subclusters that are a part of both subclusters again it's all part of one big cluster so that's okay and it's through those overlapping ones that the two main pillar posts are kind of linked to each other and and all of the Articles within those two subclusters end up linked back and forth and we could do that with a pillar postc and have three wagon wheels all with a little bit of overlapping or you can throw all the wagons out the window and we could just go with the spiderweb approach sometimes it doesn't make sense to have an overarching pillar blog post sometimes what makes more sense is for article a to link to article B article B links to article c c links to a and to D and D links to B and B links to e and it's just a kind of a web but what we don't have is any blog posts that are orphaned from the rest of the cluster every article should be linked to from at least one other article in the cluster and every article should link to at least one other article within the cluster wow now that may have been incredibly confusing so hopefully we're able to put together some sort of good visual for you and now since I'm choosing to over complicate my life by not showing you my project double time website I'm going to go repeat all those steps again and I'm going to do them for that website and we're going to get some content generated and in future future videos I'm going to show you more and more of the steps of the ways that I'm going about this I am using AI to some extent to help generate content but I'm going to try to do it in as smarter way as I can to help speed up the process but make sure that I'm creating my own content and not just letting the AI do the thinking for me it still just can't do that at least not very well unless we feed that thought to it so more on that to come in the future as well as more results from this project double time website what works and what doesn't in these kind of crazy times that we call 2024 thanks for being here we'll see you in the next [Music] video
