you're like that doesn't look hard and then you do it you're like that's pretty hard uh Melissa's not a first timer what's up Simon who else is in the house Mike H is first timer David's been here for a bit Anton love the name Daniel Moran from Brooklyn dude yeah Rockit you've been here for a while Burkina foso don't know what that means dude lots of Indian people hello Jennifer Marshall from Indianapolis actually on the bucket list is to go to the Indianapolis 500 first time here all right so how these go I share things going on in my life talk about the YouTube channel but mostly I office we are oh [ __ ] David morgage this guy right here David ask the best questions and the most and he get does them for free this guy gets maximum value Max maximally from these office hours so coming with a lot of really good questions if you don't know me and maybe you've you've seen some of the stuff we've done one of the early people at Facebook sold mint uh helped build mint.com which sold and just closed which is crazy hey Katherine and uh helped build and fail and Tred 25 different companies till we've built appa.com uh which is on track to do almost $80 million in actual Revenue not YouTube Revenue which is uh what most the other YouTubers talk about is their fake numbers uh but apps.com number one side online for software deals if you're an entrepreneur or software creator check out appa.com hello Jennifer good to see you again been a minute um yeah that that's where we're at I do have a book coming out look look at this snazzy book cover million-dollar weekend we'll be doing a big press launch and all this kind of stuff a lot of shows um in the next starting January 2nd pretty cool right million dollar weekend nice little cover snap if you're at home do a little snappy snap oh Akil has an app Sumo deal hell yeah we love promoting deals um if you're interested in joining our launch Team a lot of you are already in it but if you're not we we're closing the door to our launch Team uh grab the book grab this book The pre-order and then just shoot me an email normally about 30 to 50 of you guys do it from the office hours and then you guys chat with me in the slack group you see behind the scenes how we do the marketing you get to meet other people you get to read the book you get accountability groups we have a lot of stuff for it damn so go to MDW book.com grab the book right now just do it right now just get it over with and then shoot me a receipt book.com and you'll join the launch team today and get a lot of cool perks from that I I can't even Taco on cam it's a little little too much too much people uh cool to see so many of you guys from France all over the world all right let's just get into your questions one thing I got to show you uh one of the things in the book and the number one thing that people have been taking away the book is is this mindset called now not how which is the idea of how do you start taking action and getting results for yourself and building momentum towards your dreams because I was I was thinking about it with something you know let's say want to be better at golf you watch a lot of videos and you think just by watching videos I'm going to get better no you get better by getting on the green and start hitting Balls by the way golfing [ __ ] $500 to hit balls and walk around with fat people not for me if you like it fine but what point being is if you want to get better at making videos you got to post a video watching more videos is not going to be how you're get better you want to be better at cooking you got to cook you want to get a better at business you got a business you can't be sitting on the sidelines and that's what the book helps you kick in the ass to get going on it so again milar ween.com grab the pre-order by the way you want to talk about like starting and not worrying about it this is not even the actual book this book is called into The Impossible by my buddy Brian keing I just printed out the cover because the book's not actually even finished yet is that pretty neat so yeah the book will be coming out January 30th but don't even worry about that but if you want to be on the launch Team grab a pre-order of the copy and holl at your boy book atok dor.com let's get into your questions hell yeah audible I just recorded Audi book and if you're curious I had about 10 insane surprises from recording an audio book uh that we posted to the launch Team so come and join it you you'll see some of them but I'll tell you number one thing about audiobook it is hard it is really hard to record audiobook you sit in the same position like this because you have to have the same audio quality there a $5,000 mic in a in a studio in uh Dripping Springs Texas and it was five six hours a day of just sitting just like this really tough I was surprised how tough that was uh but I did did have this amazing producer Scott sheret you can look him up he did Prince Harry that was pretty damn cool uh how old am I how old do you think I am and by the way I do ban people so if you're asking a bunch of if you keep posting the same questions or you're just annoying no I don't do annoying but if you post any questions over over I'll ban you but I try to do my best to uh get through all your questions how many people do we have behind our YouTube channel I just got out of a YouTube planning meeting so who's on our YouTube Team uh we just Dylan is now our new producer we have Cam who's our video editor and we're hiring a new one we have a shorts editor this guy named Josh out in La we have Sylvie who is the channel kind of director of channel so she helps make sure everything gets uploaded and put everywhere there is a thumbnail designer Sasa and then we have a YouTube consultant Patty so that that's that and then generally we'll have this guy named Isaac fly with us to do our filming so it it varies and I think we're hiring more people in the next year the team costs around $300,000 a year cash and then in terms of YouTube ads I can show you our AdSense and stuff like that it generally breaks even uh because of apps.com they help fund the channel they sponsor it and that helps it otherwise it would be very tough we'd have to try to sell courses or what you see a lot of other people selling you via YouTube uh yeah get started right now yeah again this is end of The Impossible this is not my book this is Brian King's book but I just to have a book so I could show it like oh cool it's a book it's real uh can you tell us where to get the book again yes Jennifer Marshall from Indianapolis MDW book.com and then email me the receipt book atok dor.com this book is fire I've definitely have a lot of people we have uh almost a thousand in the beta team that have been reading it and helping with it and five people every weekend going through the book for free with my support I've been coaching them for free no upsales or anything like that uh and it's been insane to see the results insane sorry I just want to play with the cameras um wow Melissa Garcia Ortiz I love MDW million dollar weekend thankful for Tommy what are y'all thankful for mojax free Palestine why don't we free Israel and free Palestine and free all the countries why not why just one why not everybody let's have everybody be free I think that that's actually the ideal here everyone wants to be free uh we are looking for a video Eder but I think we're in our final rounds for people but you can hit up uh find someone on our team be resourceful a lot of times most people are like just give me the email no go be resourceful that's how success happens do you think running an app agency let's see your guys questions nice camera game thank you so much uh do you think running an app agency is good Market to get clients Abdullah Imran what up man I love that first name yeah I think agencies are good the problem with agencies is that they don't tie what they're doing to an actual outcome that people care for and here's an exact way to think about it when the economy getss bad everyone goes through their bills and says who can I cut that's what everyone does we cut I mean the app sumo.com Business it's insane our teammate cost per month was about $2 and a half million dollars a month uh and it we were able to now actually run almost a similar size business with about a $1.2 million month teammate costs so what it means to you as an agency owner is how are you actually making sure that you're above the cut line so if there's a cut line meaning I can't cut them it's going to hurt and so then the question is how do you get above the cut line you have to make sure that what you're doing is tied to revenue or saving a significant time because if they cut you it actually hurts them and so that's where you have to be mindful of yourself as an agency owner what is the best way to grow a newsletter when you don't have an audience on any social media platforms you start right now today so you don't need social media platforms that's I've been doing newsletters before and after and I'll continue continue to do them but if you don't have something you can do it right now on social media so you can post something immediately on YouTube immediately on Twitter and they're all free there's no restrictions for that the other thing that most people miss out on this is probably the easiest way to get your first 100 subscribers is go through your contact list on your phone so you oh my mom called I'll have her say hi for a sec just a sec she always calls if it's your first office hours you know but go through your contact list and literally just message people or send them an email saying hey can I add you to my newsletter hey Mom good morning good morning how are you I'm good how are you just doing office hours I know you know I I just got notified at 11 o'clock today that you were doing uh usually I a notice uh in a you know week advance that you're doing the office hours so I I I just got there you were on in your office and I thought what I'm in the the office do an hours for free no I know but I didn't get notified I wonder if other people didn't get notified I think they're getting notified people are here Mom like there's 124 last time we had like 200 people it was amazing uh no we had like 300 and dude it's also the day after Thanksgiving everyone's got the day off they're relaxing and we're like trying to talk business and making money these are the the people that showed up today are the real Hustlers who are actually G to probably take action ideally they're taking action for themselves definitely definitely they're probably anxiously waiting for your uh advice and for the live office hours especially because it's Black Friday people are shopping doing the dishes from last night chilling with family yeah that's pretty pretty impressive Mom hi everyone Hi everyone everyone say hello to my mom she's always calling very persistent one of the skills that you guys can all learn from her she she's never afraid she has no fear about asking and that's that's one of the things we we solve in million dooll weekend which is why a lot of people haven't had success in business is they're afraid to ask so my mom came to visit last weekend and she got a hot chocolate and she didn't like the hot chocolate so she asked for a refund and that it seems small but really that's that's power that's the ability to ask for a customer ask for a client ask someone out whatever it is really business all comes down to starting and asking and if you can become an expert in that and guess what everyone can it's accessible you just have to practice you just have to ask and so I love that you did it and asked for a discount yeah was you know you've embarrassed me since I was a kid you're still embarrassing me and I love it you have to you have to I mean listen I'm a customer and I don't remember who bought the hot chocolate I think D did but anyway it doesn't matter I didn't get what I wanted and they should happily uh provide a good customer service or else people aren't going to go back there and it was in was better the half chocolate was better no I didn't get a refund I had them remake it so yeah I think you know my what my business partner says and what I believe in is you gota you can't you either gonna get what you get or you're gonna get what you want and to get what you want you have to ask so no ask no get you don't like your hot chocolate you didn't get your customer you didn't get someone to be on your show whatever that is you have to ask and then guess what my mom is excellent at this as well you have to follow up most people never follow up not even once it's pathetic it's actually it's embarrassing I I love deleting people's emails and I'm like who's going to be in the 1% that follows up and almost no one does because they don't really want it and a few of you do few of you want it and you ask and you keep asking and eventually you get it you don't just get what you get you get what you want all right Mom I'm gonna go back to the office hours any other words of wisdom for these for the these gorgeous people today yes yes yes and and uh you have to ask but nicely that's important okay mom is it is it a true story you try to return your wedding silverware oh my gosh that was yeah I didn't try your uh bio dad did but he tried to return silverware from like 30 years ago right oh more than that 50 years ago I guess all right well M I'm gonna tell him the story you guys have a shabbat shalom I love you have a great weekend I'll talk to you soon Shalom I love you too keep giving your great advice honey that's great weekend have a great weekend everyone you too Mom love you bye I love you too bye honey uh yeah my mom always shows up you know part if you had a boil down success to anything in in all of life not just business it's showing up that's it you just show up and you keep showing up every [ __ ] day don't swear Noah okay bleep that out beep but the point is you just show up and you keep showing up and you keep showing up how many times have I had a business that did not work 25 times hey Dan Martell let me show put up Dan on the screen Dan has been showing up this guy hasn't stopped if you guys haven't check him out on his YouTube channel as well he's got a book uh buy back your time I've read it solid book I bought it paid full price um Dan's been showing up since 2007 that's I think where we met doing business so again for you guys you just keep showing up and that's it every single day you're showing up love Dan Martell hey James dun good to see you man yeah not being afraid of rejection you know one of the things my father as my mom calls him my biod dad that means biological I also have another father I have two dads and a mom they weren't all together um my biological dad my my dad who raised me and my my biological dad was never afraid to ask and the more that you can turn rejections into a game rejections into Fun rejections into something you actually want uh I've seen people have their lives change who here in the comments has done the coffee challenge every single person who does it is always telling me man I am so much more capable I'm so proud of myself I can do so much more wow a lot of people loving uh Dan Marell hell yeah uh Dan has been a friend and also an advocate uh for the million dollar week and is supporting it thank you Dan uh fear setting stuff man a lot of the stuff you know it this is something I keep thinking about is like where you are and where you want to be is actually a lot closer than you think and now there's two key parts of that where you are and where you want to be is closer than you think now the reality of that though is that you have to dream where you actually want to be and that's it's hard and fun at the same time and it should be exciting it should be exciting thinking maybe your Melissa or James or Jorge saying I I want this money that's great or I want this house or I just want to not have a job that sucks or I want to be able to take Fridays off whenever I want or I want to be able to work from Ecuador wherever it is now where you are and where you want to be is actually closer than you think now the second thing with that is that you don't there's no secrets people are like oh here's a secret a secret is really like hey I can't tell you this because no one else is supposed to know that's a secret now the reality though is it's really showing up and there's some things in business but it's showing up it's asking it's becoming not afraid of these fear things that that that we're all afraid of and it's not that there's experts that oh I'm so never afraid it's that I am afraid but I keep doing it anyways and that's called Creator's courage and that's available to all of you to create and face courage courage is being afraid and doing it anyways I'm gonna show up Dan on screen Dan you're the man Dan just bought a hundred book he bought a hundred copies of a million dollar weekend um I think this book is one of the best books I've ever seen I'm very proud of it there's a fine line between confidence and arrogance um check out Dan subscribe to him on YouTube and subscribe to grab his book as well uh especially if you've gotten your business going you have a few customers how many people here want to have their own business oh where's my D mortgage David mortgage David I hope I meet you in person one day mindset equals plan action equals reality and the best plan is the one you start right now you can't learn how to cook just watching you have to cook Liam I love you bman uh just pre the book hell yeah Liam uh my Irish named person I love hope your Irish name sounds cool um dude yeah what other oh this is great when will the book arrive January 30th you do get early access to it in the million-dollar weekend launch team which a few people do am I a fan of cold emails no so let me just give you specific stories so with abs.com we're hiring a vpm marketing and then for all of our leadership team every single leader has an elite adviser we have the adviser from glasso we have the ceog GM of indeed.com every single person has an elite adviser and most of these advisers have come through referral emails and so my two suggestions here why I don't believe in cold emails because every email can be warmed and cold emails generally don't get responses unless you you do certain things but to get warm emails two things one ask for referrals so every single thing we always just try to see is there a referral into this customer is there referral into these advisers every advisor comes from a referral now the second thing is that if you want to get do a business and you want to get customers don't do a business where you have to do a lot of cold emails do a business where there a lot of people that you have easy access to so many times we make it harder on ourselves because we don't want to be embarrassed to fail so we're like well I'll do this really hard obscure thing even though there's this business that works over here an example Shaggy I love Shaggy L's he's in the million-dollar weekend launch Team he really wants to do events and he's doing all these events and it's doing okay but it's not really selling and over here he's doing contract work and freelance work around copyrighting that's selling a ton so I'm like Shaggy the best thing in business the best business is the one that works so just do more of the one that works um yeah Abdullah great question we do meet a lot of billionaires we were literally just talking today about the upcoming billionaire interviews we're doing we have a billionaire V video dropping tomorrow so stay tuned to the channel for the billionaire video coming out tomorrow but yeah there's a lot of questions um from these people the difference between you and a billionaire is less than you think they started and they stuck with it and they found you know there there's more to it but it's not some exclusive Club I did think when I was getting going in business and that there's some exclusive like Harvard club that middle class people aren't able to get into all of us are able to get into it you I'm do the camera you you me you we can all get into it we can all get into these clubs unless it's like you know some you know uh masonary club or like you know the Vinci Code Club those are secretive but business and money are available exclusively worldwide to everyone I was talking to someone yesterday I was interviewing this guy who's got a popular Twitter Channel Twitter Channel Twitter whatever following he's like in Bumble Canada like Colona where's Colona Canada but guess what you can do it from anywhere in the world without going to prestigious schools all right Judah what El what platform would you suggest uh starting on do you think I should post Snippets in my newsletter on platforms like Twitter and Instagram to funnel them into my newsletter so do as I do don't do as I say I focus all my attention on YouTube that's it most people starting Focus their attention on all these platforms and then they don't get great results so all the platforms can work you just have to find the one that works for you so number one who is your customer and then number two where are they and when you say all my customers are on Instagram great maybe you're an e-commerce business selling Health Products then you have to figure out all right how do I get Instagram to work what I found is that it's hard to make YouTube videos even though people can do it and to make great ones takes time but a lot of my audience is here and the important part that I have to call out Judah and for everyone out there is that if you go back on my channel go back three years and look at my first video it was me shirtless and I always tell the story it's me shirtless going like this and trust me you didn't want to see the body I don't even think I shaved it but lately I've been shaving it trying to tone up and uh it it's not that I had a lot of team and I had a lot of money that I was using I literally just used my phone and uploaded that without editing and you can all do that too the point though you have to start right now and get going and commit to that that's why I've talked about the law of 100 so much put out 100 videos put out 100 tweets put out 100 newsletters put out a hundred different calls go a 100 different days but commit to that because we quit too soon and that is one of the easiest ways not to quit too soon uh so David has a question why do we offer tidy cal.com for it's $9 for life versus um versus Callen and these other products so we have these products at appsumo uh called The appsumo Originals led by David Kelly shout out to him Garrett ialo Marne serba Gary Luca uh that helped run it and these you can go to tidy cal.com I'll put up the link here if you're interested one it's free to use two you can actually charge people to meet with you and we have people making six figures a year using tidal.com we don't take any cut of it and we build these as lead gen into the appsumo ecosystem so that is Our intention from it it's not they actually make decent Revenue but the number one goal is how do we bring in our ideal customer to appsumo and one of the I think the number one way now is through free products or paid products like tidy cal.com so that is why we do it how do you find a problem in a niche industry so in million dooll weekend I have lots of different exact ways and step-by-step tutorials of how to get your ideas uh the problem though is you're thinking backwards it's not how do you find a problem in a niche industry how do you find a problem that people actually want to give you money for that's the way to think about it most businesses which is wrong I'll tell you they think I want subscriptions no customer wakes up and says man I wish uh I wish Michael can figure out a subscription business that I can just give him M money every month no customer gives a [ __ ] about that customers think about what problem do I have today that actually matters to me that I'm excited for someone to solve so the best way for you to think about this Michael is I want you to make a list called morning lunch evening and write down two problems that you faced morning lunch evening just do this right now now go find one other person that had that other problem and see if they'll pay you right now for that don't worry about a niche industry with a problem because that's outside of your Zone and that's going to make it hard for yourself if you're in India you can go to amazon.in I believe it is and buy the Kindle book uh it is available I verified that and I think we're I don't know if I'll travel to India for this but we have a lot of Indian customers at apps.com a lot of people from India uh interested in the book as well do I think Tik tok's growth is amazing no I think Tik Tok I'm not a conspiracy theorist no I tend to find that all the people using Tik Tok I find are not as great people as the the people on YouTube frankly so you see me spend almost zero time I don't use Tik Tok at all our team does post the videos I do think it's potentially kind of worth that um I don't think it's worth it for business I think the fact that a foreign country is controlling this as well as companies here controlling our attention is very concerning the way I've liked to think about these Platforms in general is where you can you get your best audience and then how do you put them in a place that you can actually communicate with them directly that you're not platform dependent and I found that kind of the worst people of on Tik Tok and the best people have been on YouTube I think there's great people on all these different platforms again it depends on who's your customer use the platform to build your audience and then use email to actually communicate and monetize your audience so I recommend send fox.com that's what I use that's what we built it's free to use or $49 for Life uh yeah that's what I do I think the fact that like Chinese media can show a bunch of free Palestine or free Israel or really kind of it's insane how they can influence and it's a foreign country that doesn't let America do anything there but they can do whatever they want here is no one else does that not trip anyone else out and I also find that every time I go on Tik Tok it's literally the definition of waste of time it's like here's someone doing stupid [ __ ] more stupid [ __ ] more stupid [ __ ] I love YouTube and I think there's just like a lot of ways to learn a lot of ways to benefit yourself and enjoyable content as well how do you get better at sales so there's a book Ultimate Sales Machine I love that one but I would say the best way to get better at sales is to find a product to sell and go sell it and you just have to practice the art of selling so if you think about my videos I'm going up to people a lot of the time and asking people hey how do you get rich so that's a sell right and really if you think about it's it's also a million dollar weekend which I I think we do a very good job of creating fun ways of practicing it so you can get better is asking and how do you improve your asking so asking now when I ask him when I'm said hey what do you think of Newport Beach they said oh you know I like Newport Beach really what do you like about it oh interesting what did you what did you end up doing for a living to be able to work here same sell same ask but I've transitioned how I'm asking it and now it's a lot easier to make that sell but I have found one there's books Zig Ziggler phenomenal he's an old school guy Ultimate Sales Machine Jim ran but really the best way to sell is practice selling so I've sold at Macy's I sold bed sheets I worked at Office Max for two years I sold electronics at Office Max uh I've worked at Gambit I've done a lot of sales and I've practiced it and I do think that makes you better ultimately at being better at sales I think productized Subscription Service models this is definitely a newer Trend like solar preneurship which is awesome so someone's asking about producti service what that is is for $5,000 a month I'll do all of your design I love it I think there's shifts in how people want to receive products personally I like paying fixed fees so when I bought this office when I had someone come and do it I said I want to pay 20 hours fixed and that's a fixed model and so I think the shift in thinking though is we talked about subscriptions is how do you do something that where people are excited to kind of keep subscribing to you over and over that they want to uh and have it be a part of it something to think about so I'm definitely a fan of those I think solar preneurship product Ty service models really really interesting uh business opportunities dude you guys hear my stomach kind of weird what up Chris uh okay so Kevin great question now I've helped tens of thousands of people I've started so many different businesses I'm still running a business that you can actually see I do I by the way I love hating on all these fiction YouTube business gurus because you never can see any of their business their business is the courses but do you ever said what are your businesses have you worked at Zuckerberg with Facebook have you helped start mt.com oh yeah my business I can't tell you about it you can't see it shady I don't like it I don't like it one bit and that's why I'm here to protect you guys I think it's garbage I think it's trash that's what it bothers me so I believe I have a great idea should I trademark or prove out the concept prove out the concept so we do the trademark we do the patent we do the research we do building because we're afraid of the hard part and the hard part is the fun part which is getting someone to give you money because that shows that it's actually something they want and the more that you can do that and see if they actually want it then do trademark and all that stuff later um I have done the trademark thing that's why I share that with you I spent $10,000 then I spent $100,000 $10,000 on a lawyer $100,000 to pay software Engineers the site's called bet arcade.com I think now someone bought the domain so don't even go there launch the site took six months no one came so again the important part is the customer so you got to be customer first not founder first founder first is you being like let me get a trademark let me build a website let me go try to do more research let me watch more videos no today now now not how right now go get a customer go see if someone will actually pay you for these things pros and cons of being in bu in Texas um with how the world is shifted you are still influenced by who's around you the level of talent here is good not great being in Silicon Valley I will say you're around Elite people that are very hardworking and very aggressive and what I mean by that is here in Texas we'll set goals of 10% and in Silicon Valley you're setting goals of 100% minimums and it I have one of my best friends Andrew Chen he's like if you're not doing doubling each year then you're failing like that's the level of expectation there and so I think from a growth perspective it's better to be in a in a high growth High Growth Company high growth City early on and then transition as you get the network as you get that experience into wherever you want to be hey hey Dinan my brother dude pinball any other pinball Pros out there me and tinan uh we both have pinball machines at our houses after this T I might go play some pinball I don't know what I'm doing here um cons have been in Texas there's nowhere to go on weekends Pros Texas good time zone you're in the middle of America cons of Texas it's hot as hell in the summer pros of Texas you can leave there's pros and cons to everywhere in the world that my the way I've lived now I live half my year here and half my Year in Spain uh and I think that's it's been amazing I think Europe is such a great place to live and there's trade-offs there things are slower even slower than here uh doing things is going to take time but the balances you have it's more affordable you can go to insane places like you know I can fly to Italy in a few hours here I can go to San Antonio uh here you got a lot of sports there you have soccer football whatever the hell they call it which is actually pretty fun to go to uh what was the most depressing thing you've learned from doing all these videos one anyone can do them I think that's really interesting I go on YouTube and a lot of people have made videos and copied what we've done which it annoys me but also is like awesome anyone can do it two asking is a superpower that everyone is accessible for meaning everyone can get better at asking asking for tea tinan asking for a discount when you buy a pinball machine asking for someone to come on their show asking for someone to answer you when you're doing a video asking someone to give you advice the power of asking is unlimited and the more you just practice it the better you can get at it and then I'd say the last thing that I've learned from doing these videos there's more and I think we're actually G to make a video about this recent uh coming up is there's many ways of getting rich a lot of ways basements ships courts tables whatever the hell is Tech content creators like the amount of ways of getting rich is unlimited inheriting it divorcing someone yeah kind of there's people that did that on our videos so it's always so exciting to me is that whatever you're interested in you can get rich doing let me see how many people here by the way I'm going to take a pause for a second how many people here actually have a business or want to start a business so please post in the comments yeah see now 200 people here I told you Mom people are coming oh wow okay so people are now buying the book by the way if you want to talk with me more if you want to get a copy of early million dollar weekend earlier and be a part of the launch Team see behind the scenes of how we Market it meet other people do the weekend cohorts go to MDW book.com grab a pre-order to join our launch team we're closing the launch team in the next few weeks and email me the receipt I've already seen people's now starting to send the receipt uh pretty amazing super excited about that so how many people want to have a business or start one wow Josiah has a few businesses awesome Abdullah has a venture Studio James Dunn hell yeah and how many people hey Katherine good to see you as always Angels dude I see it I see it you're posting it have a Biz have a Biz have a Biz hell yeah a lot of is and how many people here want to start a business dude hell yeah butcher next start with asking what up Anton all right and now the one thing I'd like to say in tin and I'm curious your answer if you're still in the chat what is everyone's Freedom number the website for the person asking is MDW book.com so a lot of people want to start this is one of the most powerful tools I've ever found and I've seen people like Sam par who sold this company for eight figures the hustle is a HubSpot oh more questions are coming in good tell me your freedom number so this is the number that you have to make in your side hustle so that you can actually go do the thing you really want to do so what is your freedom number mine has been $3,000 and I like asking this so your freedom number is the monthly minimum you need to make so you can do what you actually want to do David's a 7,000 Zach 30,000 a month really what are you how are you living Grant Varner 4,800 modest yeah Shi there's no wrong or right number 10,000 butcher neck 5,000 1,500 I love the smaller the better you can actually be free for a lot more affordable than you think 15,000 hell yeah Josiah good for you man do eyes close to as 3,000 yes my book ships to the Netherlands you can get a pre-order at amazon.de can Accounting Service be productized how big is QuickBooks a billion dooll business yeah I'm pretty sure you can get uh product there's a thing we teach the one minute business model and we also teach you how to evaluate Market size so that you make sure you have a million-dollar opportunity uh in the book how did I get to $3,000 a month that was a great question so so I am not a risky entrepreneur I was able to do this multiple times so when I was working at mint.com I started building Facebook games and I put Amazon affiliate links in my Facebook games and that got me to my 3,000 then I quit mint and I went and built games in Argentina got funding by nval it was a might say it's a wild Journey uh and then with appsumo dcom same thing with my friend number 3,000 bucks I was able to get there uh while working at speeddate.com I launched appsumo and it took me maybe four months to get there and then I quit and went and built appsumo 500 yes smaller the better what's up Nick hoken 5K 5K 30k dude that sounds fun cam what up man good to see your name I love seeing you guys a lot of people coming back uh time and time again for office hours 3,000 a month yeah Sterling there's no that' be a health yeah 3,000 is great totally doable it doesn't happen right away but the biggest secret which is not a secret is you have to start today you have to get going on this whether it's going to be Consulting whether it's a product whether it's content the site name here yes MDW book.com I don't I've actually never posted in the comments Black Friday oh I'm curious to talk about that if you can help me get Dave porno interview the idea was 15,000 if it's a really good interview I'll give you 20 if the video gets over a million views but if you can give porno I'll give you 15K 100% get Dave porno to do an interview with us we'll fly to him wherever he is in the world $15,000 if the video hits a million views I'll pay it 20 you guys heard me that's cool dude if you get it I'd be impressed I'd be excited to give you 15,000 what up Marcel good to see you man all right let me go back to your guys questions so yeah the freedom number is a good way for you to say hm it's actually more achievable than I think most people think they want a million what they really need is a dollar and then once they're able to actually get that that's how you start building momentum that's how you build confidence belief worthiness and then that will lead you then ultimately end up getting the million dollars and Beyond not interested in will I am very interested in Dave pornoy does Kindle version count yes grab hard copy actually counts towards the numbers the counts numbers but if anything that supports getting on the launch Team and sending me the email yes you are in butcher neck arjent stop posting time out Harrison post same question time out go get go get him yeah time being a Time millionaire is probably the most valuable thing you could do and getting your freedom number helps you become a Time millionaire time millionaire means hey next week I don't have to work time millionaire means I can go somewhere if I want on Friday or I can spend my day exactly however I want how am I excellent I'm excellent thank you for asking how important is social media to business do you think it will create a new generation of millionaires it already has I think social media there's nothing dramatically different about social media if you really think about it like there's now people instead of a few corporations controlling the power of creating content that people see everyone can have it I guess that's drastically different now the idea there is how amazing is that every individual for free can create their own business without a cost and that same goes for a lot of businesses themselves I think it's amazing and so do I think I think it's the beginning of it think about in 10 years how much bigger it can even be where everyone's consuming mostly through individuals uh and the unique content like a sporting team is unique content that's all it is they're just they have a unique thing that we actually want to watch so I think it's underhyped and there's a lot more to go on it thoughts on Twitter future hey Glenn good to see my man do I Daniel books I recommend for business million dollar weekend literally it's the best book I've ever seen if I saw a better book I wouldn't have written this there's nothing out there that I actually can recommend besides mine for getting a business going so that's what I'm saying grab the pre-order come join us get your business going thoughts on Twitter future I think Twitter has is interesting but the number one thing that holds Twitter back is that it's not growing it's not there's the same amount of people on Twitter every day there's billions on Instagram there's Instagram there's billions on YouTube there's billions on Facebook Twitter 100 200 million and not growing so it's fine things GNA be round I don't like how negative sometimes it is but I think it's interesting um oh man you guys have good questions uh can I do an interview with Sam Alman that's an interesting one I could get to Sam Alman I'm not as interested in interview right now it's it's interesting there's all these there's interviews that like you do the person you know it's going to do well and you want to actually do the interview and I think that's how work is is for yourself what do you really want to do that you're proud of and what will people pay you for and and that's the really the the concentric circles of business how much would I pay for an Elon Musk interview nothing I wouldn't pay [ __ ] because I don't I don't care to interview him I think there's a lot of people who have been interviewed so much I don't find anything interesting to talk to him about I'm not interested in Mars I'm men space I think he's doing a lot of super cool things just there's a lot of other people out there that I'm excited to share their stories like we did with Michael hudner and like we're doing with our interview tomorrow and again if you see the interviews we do it's not with fake gurus some maybe questionable I would say but most of them I would say damn these guys have real [ __ ] you could see and it's not generally the people you always hear from because I think we've already heard from them and I'm I'm just not as interested in that neither is our team am I a billionaire no no probably worth somewhere in the nine figures and that's if absum and let me be very clear that's if absum ever sold which I don't want to sell who have been the best coaches Consultants you've hired for yourself and why I have a ton of coaches so I'll tell you two who've been phenomenal I met with one of them this morning aan Al Abdullah he's the former CEO of appsumo he's an executive coach for seven and eight figure Founders uh I love him super good great advice uh and then reboot.com I just find it overhyped right now uh I do think there's a shift in it a lot of people are building it in we use it a lot in appsumo a ton customer support uses it our writing team uses it our engineering team uses it and in certain capacities if you are not using it like an engineering you're going to miss out and there's going to be people using it and getting 30 40% more productivity so but me personally I I haven't found a use case that's like unbelievable I I have an executive assistant I find there can use it for coordinating things and that's just as valuable I think people are selling you dreams of it and I think there's ways in products that is beneficial we sell a lot via app suumo so definitely ways of doing it but I think again what I always come back on is what's the customer's problem not what are the solutions available that I can try to fit into a problem and how do I solve that not the other way around uh yes I love this any action is better than in action any action is better than inaction I agree Argent I don't know what you're saying you're in timeout yeah billionaires are interesting uh well we're going to do more billionaires I promise you that that's a lot of our our channel it's like real billionaires with real interviews what is the premise for million dollar weekend so MDW million dollar weekend the book coming out can you get a timeout sure here I'll give you a timeout fine um two I would say the main premise is how to change your life via business in 48 hours which everyone has available everyone has a a weekend available to change your life I'd say the secondary premise is if there's so much business Guru out there and there's so many books and so many YouTube how is it that people that want to start a business have not and I was able to solve that yeah so if you are struggling to start a business you don't have a product but you have experience I would go and get paid for what you have experience in so how do you go back to what you've already done that works and get customers around that right now so can you contact someone today right now email text call in person that has helped them and you've helped them in the past you can help them again and guess what if they're like hey I don't know anyone ask for referral they don't need any help ask why not so you can learn and improve oh johannas that's fun so yeah and um maybe we'll put him out in shorts the CH from the California millionaires he was really interesting let us in his house he gave us tea really nice guy the book is coming out January 30th I do think AI will influence a lot of work uh in the next two or three years specifically customer support a lot of like lower lower paying jobs and those people will transition up or to separate things um where your answers are repetitive and the same in coding I think co-pilot on GitHub and some of these things are insane um and so I think the question is how will you be leveraging it in what capacity any action is better than inaction any I 100% believe in that can I speak to Spanish in 15 seconds pero what is my what is my vision in life I wrote it down write yours down that's the best way to get it just write out what would be your dream by the end of 2024 so I call it a dream list you just write it down and then think about really think with which ones are you excited about doesn't matter about my vision I'm I'm literally living my vision and it's awesome it's super awesome but it took me many years to get there and it's a balance of not only working all the time or as I like to think my girlfriend thinks I'm working all the time uh being with an awesome partner doing work I love to do stuff like this for free I just like doing it I like talking to you guys I like sharing my advice all my wisdom I've learned over the past 20 years of business uh I like living in Spain I like that I get to do the things I want all day can you have I learned a language in a month no you can learn a language in a month the thing I'd recommend for it is that you have to have time for it it's not that adults can learn people are like it's because I'm an adult no you have to learn two things one you have to commit the time two you have to have a goal like hey I have some outcome I want like I want to travel to this country and three you have to learn how do you learn best uh if I had a month free where I could just only communic only communicate and learn yeah I would learn it I just given how my life is and where it is in my priority list no priority list is appsumo my book my girlfriend and YouTube not in that order girlfriend number one I think hey what up sh frequencies and Law of Attraction this is a lot of like Napoleon Hill thinking Grow Rich I think the biggest thing is actually not what he says I think the biggest thing from all these people is actually optimism Law of Attraction if you don't know it's like I believe I'll get rich I believe I'll get rich it's like well I'm still poor and I'm at home and it sucks but it's about having a optimistic attitude that you can get it that's actually one of the things I've noticed from people is believing you can get rich believing you can get a husband beli you can get a customer believing you can get a business going and that's what these books really I believe help people do how many businesses do I manage at once one aba.com I think it's a common entrepreneu mistake to have many things going when if you look at everybody who's ever gotten really rich it's because they had one thing that worked really well the best business is the one that works there's nothing wrong with being an employee but I think every single person should be an entrepreneur or try being an entrepreneur do being an entrepreneur you learn about yourself you get creative you get control and then you could decide whether you want to be an employee or you want to be an entrepreneur so great question Michael D almea cool last name I literally put out a podcast today go to OK dor uh go to noah.com podcast what up Vinnie um go to no.com let me put it up on the page no.com podcast uh it's literally 20 minutes about how to not uh how to not quit and how to stay focused so no ken.com podcast subscribe to the latest episode um and that is how to stay focused you can send the receipt hey what up fun guy MDW book.com email the receipt to book dor.com yeah last time tons of you guys I think we had like 50 people join the launch Team I'd love for you guys to join the book launch Team behind the scenes of the book early access to the book accountability on your own entrepreneurship get a talk to me in slack pretty pretty good for 30 bucks uh grab the book at MDW book.com send me the receipt Marcel I love this quote yeah you can't lose if you don't quit most of the successful people and this is an important Point most almost every single successful person I would say 100% is an experiment mindset an experiment mindset and they're doing starting and they're starting a lot and they keep starting and they keep starting and they keep starting eventually they get somewhere and the reality is we all have 52 chances there's 52 weekends we have 52 chances to change our life especially if you have a day job and you have a family and you don't have a lot of time but you have 52 chances to change it and all of you can Josiah easiest way to produce a hard cover of a book go to Fiverr actually when I did myself published books I went to Fiverr and it was like $10 for formatting and $10 for a cover I think I paid premium for like expedite it was actually pretty good quality what's up jofa good to see you my man dude I like how this guy came back with a different username and now I'm Banning him again bye-bye how do you stay Frugal through all your success um I think that's about learning the fundamentals of personal finance and and I I that's how I was raised I was RA very practical where my mom still complains she's she's watching now she's like $5 for a latte o ve here's my mom's face o right that's what she does every $ Five Doll latte which I think is uh maybe not the best way to look at money I think it's idea of how do you create more money you can't get rich saving like keep saving your pennies you just won't right and it's so much better to be rich at 30 and 40 than at 60 that's a a fact it's just so much better you have so many more options you can stay healthier you have control over your time and your whatever you want to be doing at 60 it's just like physically it's going to be challenging and what you have available to you is a lot less because you have less time and so the better thing is how do you create more money than only just trying to save your nickels and so how do you stay Frugal what frugality comes down to is what do you value and then thinking about what do you really want to spend what is worth spending money on like I I don't want to talk about I have a lot of Rolexes and it's it's a way I commemorate moments like I just commemorated a very special moment in life so I got the Pepsi and so that's cool for me I like them but figuring out where I go to the airport and it's like $5 for a bottle of water I'm like God damn it that [ __ ] pisses me off James thanks for buying million dollar weekend send me the receipt join the launch Team good to I'll see you on the other side now the way that I like to think about it is we all have a number that we should spend not time deciding what I mean by that is that my number is $1,000 so if something's below a thousand I'm really just saying now it's not worth even thinking about it just do it and everyone can get a number and the reason I'm saying that is that let's not spend time on that let's spend time on actually creating money and growing money and if it's less than a dollar just buy it if it's less than five just keep thinking and then over time that number goes up so for me it's $1,000 so when I go to the airport it's $5 for water ball okay just get it so think about what your number is to just make to reduce the amount of decisions that you shouldn't be making so you can spend that energy on the things you really want to be thinking which should be creating more money so this is a really interesting call out I gotta I saw this up here Liam what up man I struggle with mind code and scarcity trying to change that so uh it's easy I I don't like Rich gurus or well most most of them are fake frankly because they're selling you books and courses because they're poor from other ways it's easy to have an abundance mindset when you're rich it's easy to have an abundance mindset when you came from resources so how do you change that mindset right how do you change your belief that you can jump out of the middle class and you could jump to the Elite Class one you have to believe it but that's so hard right it's like telling someone just believe it believe it they're like well it's not [ __ ] working man it's not working so how to feel like there's abundance is that you have to do things that build up your confidence that there's more out there for you so what is one small thing today maybe asking someone for a dollar maybe posting something on social maybe doing something good at work where you believe huh you believe you actually believe it not think it you do it that by doing something I'm getting more by doing something I believe I actually believe that more is there out for me because for me I'm like yo I'm getting rich and there's got to be way more ways to get rich but I honestly I have enough so now I'm like I need to share more so instead of thinking it right like looking in the mirror there's abundance there's so much abundance it's like well I'm [ __ ] poor still that's not giving me abundance abundance is taking your phone maybe not your phone but taking something and selling it online making five bucks you're like dude [ __ ] yeah I can make money I can do this stuff you do have to you know Sher I do agree with you you have to Envision it believe it and feel it but the only way to feel it is to do it there's been so many times people are like you should be happy no because you're doing you're rich or you should be happy because of this and I'm still not it's only when I'm doing these things like with this book I was very self-conscious if I could actually help people get a business going in 48 hours and I was like I don't I feel like an impostor you know I'm working with to RW one of the best business writers on the planet he he knows I'm fake but through helping hundreds if not thousands of people go through the book actually it's with thousands I believe it I see it so you can't just think these things and be like well I'm gonna change my mindset because it's really hard now not how I tell you about that because it's so it's a way to take action now to start doing things that you can get results that you start feeling better about yourself then you start believing there's abundance out there for you am I a Jew yes I don't know why that matters what's my take on investing in stocks bonds index funds two things one I like it a lot better than real estate I think real estate is overrated I like that these things are liquid I think they're a great way to be passively rich not actively Rich meaning you generally get around a seven and a half percent return on the S&P over the past 50 years annually it might be might be a little higher but generally seven and a half percent now if you're a professional investor and you spend all day every day doing it yes you can get more but generally you're not going to beat that and that's been proven so I like to do active Rich creating businesses which is literally the best return you can ever get which is actively creating a business best return you can ever get the best return is not reading a book best return is reading the book and taking action to create some [ __ ] for yourself and get unlimited upside but in terms of this what I do is I put $10,000 a month into uh basically 60% us 40% International 90% stocks 10% bonds I think it's four funds mostly you can just do vti which is Vanguard put it on auto I think the biggest thing in rem sey shout out one of my good friends I will teach you be rich I love his advice just put the [ __ ] on auto whatever your number is and then think about how you can slowly keep increasing it and focus on the active income and let go of the passive income because I'll tell you real estate my place got flooded last week my other one had a a ceiling now I had to pay an extra $112,000 because I have two of them I have paid 24,000 to fix the [ __ ] ceiling so my point being Is that real estate can work but you have to be a professional and focus on it if you have a day job uh and you don't want to increase wealth dramatically yeah do real estate over you know 20 years by a place every few years and potentially you can make money uh I have found it to be a pain in my ass and it's also not liquid I didn't it's really surprising because you you see these people online teaching you it and the reality is not what you think what up James Dunn Joel buers good to see you my man [Music] yeah you get so much learning through doing you're not going to learn through watching another video you'll get inspired that's great and that's what a lot of our videos do but the important thing is to take action and get started today so in 10 years today you thank you James Kei just brought the book hell yeah James good to see you my man send me a receipt uh I got another about 10 minutes I get back to work how do you make friends in your Niche I just reach out to people and I tell them I like them and I I say hey man you want to have a barbecue I like you so I get nervous thinking of doing door to-door sales then don't do door to-door sales but go practice selling and asking there's two ways I'll tell you that are very simple ways that you can practice the skill of asking which is one of these superpowers you need to have a business one do the coffee challenge a lot of has anybody here done that if you haven't commit to doing it which is you go to a coffee place or tea place or store and you ask for 10% off and the point is not the discount the point is asking and practicing it's a muscle and it helps you become very good at being an entrepreneur and the other one is the compliment challenge so next time you see someone at the street you go up to them and you say hey I like your shirt they say okay and you're like cool they're like bye they say bye and it's a very safe way of practice asking and then you do that then if you needed you don't maybe need to do door to door but then if you go to door to door you're like I've been practicing this it's easier and you learn how to ask better for the people who done the coffee challenge what have you learned James what have you learned Sebastian what have you learned Rico and if you don't want to do door too do referrals if you can practice doing referrals a lot easier than going door too hey I just did this at your house who's one person so one of my latest things I'm doing I'm doing you know going on a promotional tour for million dollar weekend and I've every show at the end of doing a podcast I say hey who's one other podcaster you think I should be on their show that has been crushing for finding other shows and then they just introduce me to their friends the point of the callif challenge is not to get the 10% off it's actually to get rejected and keep going at what point should you get an employee when you ask that question yeah Rico I want to call that out uh this is a really important thing the best advice you could give yourself is what's the hard thing I'm avoiding right now let me say that one more time because I think it's so damn important the best advice you can give yourself is what's the hard thing I'm avoiding right now and then do that that's it that could probably be the whole show any book format yes if you grab the audiobook Digital Book hard copy covers counts more towards like the New York Times but if you grab any of them and support it and you're on the launch Team mazeltov come join us email me book atok dor.com with the receipt we're closing the launch Team so no one will be able to enter it I don't think that's I think it's literally GNA be the only way you can interact with me outside of these office hours or I do reply sometimes to comments but probably the best way to interact with me uh if you want to have questions and talk about your own business lots of people copied appsumo there's a lot of restaurants in your city but that still means that there's advantages you can create monopolies as Peter teal would say that you can create uh Johannes just bought the book uh send me an email Johannes book.com send me the email of the receipt yeah there's you know the downside of asking is a rejection the upside is unlimited hey what's up man I'ma parar cool name you email me the receipt we add you to our slack group you get access to the book over time you get a talk to me in slack you get to actually see behind the scenes of our marketing and you get to meet other people who are hustling and getting their business going audible works yeah hey Joel buyers good to see you dude Melissa it is always great to see you it really where's Melissa it's great to see you look at that taco I'm gonna eat that taco in just a little bit uh I got another like fiveish minutes what other questions you guys got going on oh I'm actually super curious any Black Friday deals that you bought or websites that you highly recommend I'd be curious to call these out shie oh my God you are awesome sh are you in our launch Team I hope you grab the book and come join it I'd love to see you on the other side how much work is hard uh you just not work hard enough you know I created a almost nine well it's nine figure business in terms of valuation it's you almost 100 million in Revenue a year I didn't work that hard in the beginning straight up over time am I working harder yeah but I'm actually working hard because I want to so I think that's actually the disconnect you don't work hard now I'm not here to nag people I already got a Jewish mother she's like I don't nag I'm like you nag mom but it's finding the thing that it's not hard work like find like I get to make YouTube videos write a book that I'm excited to tell people about work on promoting software make Cool Tools with appsumo that's my job holy [ __ ] this is cool life life could be as cool life can be as cool as you want it to be but you have to believe that that's what we talked about earlier you have to know that there's a level that you can be at I'm sweating because I'm excited about it I work a lot I thought today's a holiday but I'm still working because I'm excited about it I'm doing this free office hours today because I'm excited about it and yes it didn't happen initially but that's why I talked to you about your freedom number you get your freedom number then you do all the [ __ ] things you want to do guess what by doing the things you actually want to do you can get even more rich and then by being rich doing the things you want to you're going to keep doing it don't ever retire retiring Is for Suckers later Marcel good night to the kids read a good story to them any other cool uh Black Friday deals we didn't do a Black Friday deal for the book I think the book itself is going to be awesome so we didn't do apps.com has awesome Black Friday deals what other Black Friday deals did you guys find out there yeah times for suckers man most people die after they retire because I think it's like you have nothing to live for and work makes you feel good about yourself so find for work you enjoy and then work on that and guess what you're gonna feel damn great about yourself all right for people out there we do have uh my mailing list I think a few of you guys are already on it I've seen a lot of your names uh noah.com lost doesn't mean you're lost it's our lost chapter from the book it's totally free oh wow that's cool je uh go grab it no.com lost I'll put the link how do I do that these are actually pretty cool I didn't realize you can post the links here Kepler what up my man oh brilliant oh Shar you are an nauman you're suming awesome heated jacket dude dude I've seen these heated jackets Vinnie really really interesting what percent do I give to charity how much I don't actually think of it as a percentage what the way I approach charity is that and this is thing I started about 10 years ago from my buddy Brian I invest or donate not invest I donate something to a charity 10 bucks and I just keep adding so and I always do donations on subscription so that it's just keeps continually out and you do realize that you know you want to practice abundance if you give to them you're kind of like oh [ __ ] I actually do have more than I realize so I think that's coming back on one of the earlier ideas uh by donating to charity good way to realize that you probably do have more if you're broke I don't know if I do that uh but even doing like a dollar a month and then you can add on top of that over time all right guys it is 1:10 pm November 24th happy Black Friday bunch of you join the book launch team we're closing doors to that the book's 30 bucks right now MDW
