AI chat Bots have become increasingly annoying scraping our websites without our permission now this is extremely annoying when we have unique content that took us hours days or weeks writing that content but the bot comes in scrapes the website super fast and then serves that information to someone else or they're just scraping the website to fill up their database now there's a way to avoid this and this is provided by Cloud flare the good thing about it is that it's completely free and we can activate it super easily so on this video let me show you what it does and how to activate it and let's go check it out what's up everyone my name is George and what I've mentioned before is that chat Bots are scraping websites without permission of the actual websites let me give you a quick example so you understand what I'm talking about so in this case I'm using chat gbt and I told it to go search the web for certain things now what it did right now is that it searched on these specific websites for example without notifying them so it's scraping websites for the information to serve it to us now if we don't give it permission well we shouldn't let them do it so for that from scraping my website well first of all you have to integrate your DNS so it works with Cloud flare now as I mentioned before this is going to work on the free plan and aside from this activation that we're going to do cloudfare is super powerful so yes activate it if you have a website now once you connect with Cloud flare what you have to do is go into the security section go into Bots right here we're going to select it and there's two options one is the bot fight mode which is always a good idea also that's that's for combating other type of bots that are not the AI ones but if you want to block the AI scraper is going to be this one once we activate this we it's going to trigger the system to block these AI Bots from RP in your website which is always a good idea especially if you have unique content I mean if you're writing content that took you hours days or weeks to write it you definitely want to take care of it so it doesn't just get scraped by a bot and then get used by someone else that didn't didn't even ask for permission now what does this do there's a link right here that I'm going to share also so you can understand what the cloud flare docs say about it for example right here go ahead and read it with Com or pause it and it's just a way to block these AI Bots from doing this that I just did right now and for example if I do it again I'll go ahead and search and it's going to search websites with news about it for example searching and it search Five websites during this particular search now the good thing is that they tell you where you're grabbing it from but maybe you don't want to share this information I don't know if daily SAA wants to uh give you that information because each time that these AI Bots are going into the website they are causing server load you don't want that if it's not a real person who's actually watching the news I mean it's just scraping this and you're going to be able to use this further on with your AI bot here to create other information maybe repurpose this information that you just got with all these so it's grabbing that information without your permission and what we want to do is avoid it and that's the way that you're going to be able to activate block AI scrapers and crawlers I definitely recommend that you use cloudfare DNS service for your website even if you don't activate this I definitely recommend that there's so many tools for security for DNS It's amazing And as I mentioned before all this is provided in the free plan if you jump into a pay plan well it's even better but
